"Area 51"

This track was my tenth track released on YouTube.

So here's a funny little track for ya. Things got going when I stumbled upon a cool 60's synth. It sounded a lot like Leon Theremin's Theremin instrument, that defined space music in the 50's and 60's.

It had that old vintage sci-fi/space movie feel all over it. This helped me on the theme for this song. After a few days of fiddling with the song, I got pointed out to some great guitar refills made by Progtronic, who kindly made them available for free. These instruments became the foundation of the track. The trick on this theme became to mix vintage with modern.

I scoured the internet for some space theme movie soundbites and samples to give the track an even greater space feel.

The track features a Theremin-like synth, a Moog-like drone (for the low-end) and some classic space movie soundbites.

Available on the album 'No Strings Attached'.

Below you will find a small video of Leon Theremin demonstrating his Theremin instrument. This was the basis of inspiration for this song.
